Situated 180km off the coast of Norway near the border of the UK sector of the North Sea, the field is estimated to contain recoverable resource of more than 300 million barrels oil equivalent (Mboe).
Martin Linge is a gas and oil field near the UK border, discovered in 1978 and developed with a fixed platform and an FSO. The field started production in 2021 and has high pressure and temperature reservoirs.
Martin Linge was discovered in 1978. Its plan for development and operations (PDO) was approved in 2012. The platform jacket was installed on the field in 2014 and the topside modules in 2018. The Norwegian Petroleum website states, as of February 2021, that "production is planned to start in mid-2020." [8] .
