Doyle wurde am University College in Dublin ausgebildet. Nach seinem Abschluss spielte er zunächst an Theatern in Dublin, bevor er nach London zog.
Tony Doyle (1935-2000) was a versatile and popular actor in TV and film. He played Father Sheehy in The Riordans, Brian Quigley in Ballykissangel, Colonel Hadley in Who Dares Wins, and many other roles.

Tony Doyle was an Irish television and film actor. He attended Belcamp College, Dublin as a boarder before going onto University College Dublin (which he did not finish). He got his first big break playing Father Sheehy in the RTE weekly soap The Riordans (1965) in the 1960s and 1970s.
