Sladen was the only child of Tom Sladen (1900–1994), who fought in the First World War and served in the Home Guard during the Second World War, and Gladys (1902–1978) (née Trainer). [2]
Elisabeth Sladen was a British actress and writer, best known for playing Sarah Jane Smith in Doctor Who and its spin-offs. She appeared with seven different Doctors, wrote additional material for the show, and starred in her own series The Sarah Jane Adventures.
