Tidye Pickett (November 3, 1914 – November 17, 1986) was an American track and field athlete. She represented the United States in the 80-meter hurdles at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, becoming the first African-American woman to compete in the Olympic Games .
Tidye Pickett and Louise Stokes were the first black women to compete in track and field events at the Olympics, but faced racism and sexism. They were denied their chance to win gold in the 4x100 relay by white athletes who performed worse than them at the trials.
