Kathryn Mitchell (born 10 July 1982) is an Australian track and field athlete who competes in the javelin throw. She has represented her country at three Olympic Games, finishing ninth in 2012 and sixth in 2016. She won gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games with a throw of 68.92 m, a Commonwealth Games, Australian and Oceanian record.

About Kathryn. Kathryn Mitchell has been ranked consistently among the best female javelin throwers in Australia for well over 17 years, representing at all the major championships and even making Olympic finals.
Mitchell beat world champion Kelsey-Lee Barber to take the women’s javelin title at the Australian Track and Field Championships on Saturday 17 April. She set a new Australian record of 68.92m in 2018, but has struggled for form since and needs to improve her Olympic qualifying standard of 64.00m.
