He held the NYSAC, NBA, and The Ring heavyweight titles from 1951 to 1952, and broke the record for the oldest man to win the title, at the age of 37.

Apr. 2024 · Jersey Joe Walcott (born Jan. 31, 1914, Merchantville, N.J., U.S.—died Feb. 25, 1994, Camden, N.J.) was an American world heavyweight boxing champion from July 18, 1951, when he knocked out Ezzard Charles in seven rounds in Pittsburgh, Pa., until Sept. 23, 1952, when he was knocked out by Rocky Marciano in 13 rounds in Philadelphia.
Cream (Walcott) dominated the fight but fouled Palmer when draped over the ropes. Walcott's published record also lists an 8-round points win over Carmen Passarella, wich was Palmer's real name, for August 1 1936 in Camden. No evidence for this fight has been found in contemporary Camden newspapers. 1930-09-09.
