Roy Stanley Emerson AC (born 3 November 1936) is an Australian former tennis player who won 12 Grand Slam singles titles and 16 Grand Slam doubles titles, for a total of 28 Grand Slam titles. All of his singles Grand Slam victories and 14 of his Grand Slam doubles victories were achieved before the open era began in 1968.

He was a player-coach with the World Team Tennis Boston Lobsters in 1978. Emerson was ranked in the world Top 10 nine times between 1959-1967, ascending to the No. 1 position in 1964 and 1965 and No. 2 in 1961-1962, 1967. Emerson was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 1986. A few additional honors from his homeland followed.
