Calzaghe suffers first career knockdown in 2nd; Mitchell down in 2nd. Pudwill down twice in 1st and once in 2nd. Pudwill took the fight on two-weeks' notice as a replacement for Thomas Tate. Jimenez had one point deducted in the 10th round for a head-butt.

Joe Calzaghe is arguably the best super middleweight in history and will long be remembered as one of the greatest British fighters of all time. That lofty position didn’t come easily, however. Calzaghe’s story began in Hammersmith, London, on March 23, 1972.
Defeated International Boxing Federation Super Middleweight Champion Jeff Lacy by a unanimous decision on March 4, 2006, to unify the IBF and WBO titles. Calzaghe, an underdog even with the British bookmakers, dominated the fight. He also won the vacant Ring Magazine Super Middleweight Championship.
