St Hugh's College is one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford. It is located on a 14.5-acre (5.9-hectare) site on St Margaret's Road, to the north of the city centre. [2] It was founded in 1886 by Elizabeth Wordsworth as a women's college, and accepted its first male students in its centenary year in 1986.
Known for its extensive, tranquil gardens, St Hugh’s is one of the largest colleges in Oxford. Founded in 1886, St Hugh’s was established to offer an Oxford education to women who could not afford the fees of the University at the time.
St Hugh’s College is situated a short walk from the city centre, close to the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter and the University's Science Area. Its fourteen-acre site contains spacious and beautiful gardens, one of the hidden delights of Oxford.
