美国艺术学院
奥蒂斯艺术设计学院（Otis college of art and design）（简称OTIS）成立于1918年，原创办者Harrison Gray Otis希望在南加州成立一个公立而且独立的艺术学校。经过长久的经营，该校在加州已有一定的名声，特别是服装设计系广为人知。该学校的四年制本科BFA学位和两年制的MA学位课程已经WASC和国家艺术与设计学校协会认可。该校专业包括有插图设计，产品设计，建筑设计，时装设计，动画设计，玩具设计等等。
截至2005年，它是美国文化最多样化的私立艺术与设计学校之一。
此外，奥的斯（Otis）培养了重要的拉丁裔艺术家，包括马里索尔·埃斯科巴（Marisol Escobar），而壁画团体“四失”（Los Four）也在1970年代起源于奥的斯。
奥蒂斯艺术设计学院受西部学校与学院协会和美国国家艺术设计学院协会认证，包括其本科阶段开设的插画、美术、平面设计、建筑、景观设计、室内设计、时装设计、数字媒体、玩具设计和产品设计，以及研究生阶段开设的美术、平面设计、公共实务和创意写作项目。
本科学生通常在新生期间修完一系列传统的绘画、油画、建筑等基础性课程之后，在第二学年选择感兴趣的专业，在完成所选专业课程的同时，还需要完成一些通识教育课程，与综合性学校的学生不同的是，学生不必修读综合历史课，取而代之的是艺术历史课程。

奥蒂斯（Otis）长期以来被认为是加利福尼亚的主要艺术机构之一，始于1918年，当时《洛杉矶时报》的创始人哈里森·格雷·奥蒂斯（Harrison Gray Otis）遗赠了他在洛杉矶西湖的财产，在南加州开设了第一所公立，独立的专业艺术学校。当前的奥的斯大学主校区（自1997年春季起）位于洛杉矶的韦斯特切斯特地区，靠近洛杉矶国际机场。主楼（建于1963年）是由建筑师Eliot Noyes为IBM设计的，并以其计算机“打孔卡”式窗户而闻名 。主校区位于洛杉矶韦斯特切斯特林肯大道9045号的前IBM航空航天总部 。该学校1978年到1991年间曾为纽约的Parsons合作，当时OTIS的名称叫做“Otis Art Institute of Parsons School of Design”；在西岸就读Otis的学生可以到东岸的Parsons去上课。1991年后才脱离了Parsons，成为Otis。 OTIS对作品这一项要求很高，而且临近洛杉矶，全校规模不大，约有1100名学生，研究所采用绝对的小班制教学。Otis希望学生通过他们的创造力、技能和视野，丰富我们的世界。1997年，学院从洛杉矶市中心附近的麦克阿瑟公园（MacArthur Park）穿过街对面的原始建筑进行了大规模改建。Galef中心是为弗雷德里克·费舍尔（Fredrick Fisher）设计的，于2001年建成 。
