Roger Halyard, a neat British gentleman, has long lived on a remote island in the Pacific Ocean. His three daughters grew up here with their housekeeper Thelma and have never seen another man except their father. Halyard gets the shock of his life when he learns that 1500 American soldiers will be stationed on the island.
