Tail Spin (also known as Tailspin) is a 1939 aviation film. The screenplay was written by Frank Wead and directed by Roy Del Ruth. It was based on the book, "Women with Wings: A novel of the modern day aviatrix" (Ganesha Publishing, 1935), authored by Genevieve Haugen, who was also an advisor and stunt pilot in the film.
Synopsis. TaleSpin is set in the fictional city of Cape Suzette (a pun on the dish Crêpe Suzette ). The city lies on an unnamed island, in an unspecified body of water, on a large harbor or bay enclosed by a high cliff wall. A single cleft in the wall is the harbor's only means of access.
Tail Spin: Directed by Roy Del Ruth. With Alice Faye, Constance Bennett, Nancy Kelly, Joan Davis. Flyer enters a cross-country aerial derby, becomes rival to a wealthy society flyer, competes in parachute jumps and has love affairs.
