The Man in the Iron Mask is a loose 1998 film adaptation of a subplot of The Vicomte de Bragelonne (1847-1850) by Alexandre Dumas. The original serial novel is the second sequel to The Three Musketeers. One of many versions, the film was the directorial debut of Randall Wallace, previously known for writing Braveheart.
