Carl Allen is a versatile and influential jazz musician who has played with many renowned artists and recorded over 200 albums. He is also a co-founder of Big Apple Productions and Nella Productions, and a teacher and mentor of young jazz musicians.
With over 200 recordings to his credit, the gifted Milwaukee-born, New York-based drummer, sideman, bandleader, entrepreneur, and educator, Carl Allen’s profound and propulsive percolations provided soulful and syncopated support for nearly three decades.
Carl Allen (born April 25, 1961) is an American jazz drummer. Allen attended William Paterson University. He has worked with a wide variety of musicians, including Freddie Hubbard, Jackie McLean, George Coleman, Phil Woods, the Benny Green Trio, and Rickie Lee Jones. It was with Green that Allen met bassist Christian McBride.
