17. Aug. 2023 · Sid McMath was a prosecuting attorney, decorated U.S. Marine officer, and governor of Arkansas from 1949 to 1953. He was a close ally of President Harry Truman and a leader of the postwar reform movement in the South.
6. Dez. 2023 · Sidney Sanders (Sid) McMath was a World War II veteran who led the GI Revolt, a political reform movement in Arkansas in 1946. He challenged the corrupt McLaughlin organization in Hot Springs and won the prosecuting attorney's office, and later became governor in 1948.
