Carlo Andrea Pozzo di Borgo (kär´lō ändrĕ´ä pôt´tsō dē bôr´gō), 1764–1842. Corsican politician and diplomat in Russian service, b. Corsica. In the French Revolution, he allied with Pasquale Paoli against the Jacobins on Corsica and supported the British occupation of the island in 1794.
Carlo Andrea Pozzo di Borgo (1764–1842) was a Corsican opponent of Napoleon and an important diplomat in the service of the Russian Empire. After working closely with the tsar during the French campaign of 1814 he became the long‐time (twenty‐one years) ambassador of Russia in France.
