Dominic Jermey is a British diplomat and the current British Ambassador to Indonesia. He has previously served as Ambassador to Afghanistan, the United Arab Emirates, and the Director-General of the Zoological Society of London.

Dominic Jermey was appointed His Majesty’s Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor-Leste in 2023.
Dominic’s previous diplomatic postings include serving as HM Ambassador to Afghanistan (2016 to 2017) and to the United Arab Emirates (2010 to 2014). Dominic was Managing Director and Chief Executive of the UK’s inward investment and export support agency, UK Trade and Investment from 2007 to 2010 and 2014 to 2015. In 1999 to 2000, Dominic was British Representative to the UN Transitional Administration in East Timor, reporting to the UK Ambassador in Jakarta. Dominic has also served in Pakistan, Spain, Macedonia and headed the UK’s crisis team in Thailand following the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami.
Dominic was Director General of the conservation science NGO, the Zoological Society of London, from 2017 to 2022. Prior to joining the diplomatic service, Dominic was a corporate financier at investment bank, Schroders. Dominic has been a trustee of UK international development NGO CAFOD since 2008.
Dominic has a lifelong passion for wildlife conservation, theatre & the arts. He is a keen diver and a slow triathlete.

They are responsible for the direction and work of the Embassy and its Consulates, including political work, trade and investment, press and cultural relations, and visa and consular services.

Dominic Jermey is the UK's representative to Indonesia and Timor-Leste since 2023. He has a long diplomatic career in Afghanistan, UAE, East Timor, Pakistan, Spain and Thailand, and was also a CEO of UK Trade and Investment and a conservation scientist.
