Industrialist, politician. François de Wendel (5 May 1874 – 13 January 1949) was a French industrialist and politician. He inherited the leadership of a major steel manufacturer in Lorraine at a time when it was part of Germany, and in Meurthe-et-Moselle in France to the west.

François de Wendel, député puis sénateur, président du Comité des forges (1918-1940), régent de la Banque de France (et ainsi désigné comme faisant partie des « 200 familles »), est considéré comme un des principaux acteurs d'une politique conservatrice qui échoue avec l'avènement du Front populaire.
