August 1881) war ein Häuptling der Brulé-Lakota-Indianer. Den englischen Namen Spotted Tail (gefleckter Schweif) erhielt er von weißen Pelztierjägern.
Spotted Tail war tatsächlich der Regierung wegen seiner Rednerkunst und seinen besonderen Fähigkeiten in Richtung der komplizierten Indianer-Politik ein Dorn im Auge. Auch hatte er sich konsequent für die Verbesserung der Lebensbedingungen seines Volkes eingesetzt.

Spotted Tail was a prominent figure in the Northern Plains who led the Brule Sioux and signed the Treaty of 1868. He was assassinated in 1881 by his rival Crow Dog, who was acquitted by the courts.
