Dr Letitia Fairfield CBE. Born in Melbourne in 1885 to an Anglo-Irish journalist father and Scottish musician mother, Fairfield excelled in her medical studies at the Edinburgh Medical College for Women and graduated with a MD from the University of Edinburgh in 1911.
