Yolande Martine Gabrielle de Polastron, Duchess of Polignac (8 September 1749 – 9 December 1793) was the favourite of Marie Antoinette, whom she first met when she was presented at the Palace of Versailles in 1775, the year after Marie Antoinette became the Queen of France.
Yolande Martine Gabrielle de Polastron, comtesse puis duchesse de Polignac, est née à Paris ( paroisse Saint-Sulpice) le 8 septembre 1749 et est morte à Vienne le 5 décembre 1793, alors en exil.
Duchess of Polignac 1749-1793. Blessed with a pleasing physique and an ‘attractive, solid character,’ Yolande de Polastron married Count Jules de Polignac, the nephew of ‘Madame Etiquette’ in 1767. She first met the Dauphine Marie Antoinette during the royal wedding at Versailles in 1770.
