  4. 14. Juli 2023 · Kamaraj was one of India’s tallest sons. The story goes that as a young boy, Kamaraj tamed a temple elephant that went berserk at a bazaar. Noticing that the chains on the elephant’s right leg were missing, Kamaraj raced to the temple, brought them, and threw them before the animal stopping it in its tracks. The boy became a legend.

  5. Kumaraswami Kamaraj played a leading role in shaping India's destiny after the passing away of Jawaharlal Nehru in 1964, to the Congress split in 1969. He was born humble and poor in a backward area of Tamil Nadu on July 15, 1903. He was a Nadar, one of the most depressed castes of Hindu society. His schooling lasted only six years.
