Emily Taft Douglas (* 10. April 1899 in Chicago, Illinois; † 28. Januar 1994 in White Plains, New York) war eine US-amerikanische Politikerin. Emily Taft Douglas (April 10, 1899 – January 28, 1994) was a Democratic Party politician from the U.S. state of Illinois. She served as a U.S. Representative at-large from 1945 until 1947 and was married to U.S. Senator Paul Douglas from 1931 until his death in 1976.
Emily Taft Douglas of Illinois recognized the dangers of fascism during the mid-1930s and dedicated her public career to the cause of collective security against aggression and the establishment of a permanent machinery to insure international peace.
Emily Taft Douglas organized and chaired the department of government and foreign policy of the Illinois League of Women Voters and her husband served as alderman to the Chicago City Council. Hoping to "strengthen democracy at the grass roots," she became active in local Democratic politics.
