Der älteste Kardinal der katholischen Weltkirche, Alexandre do Nascimento, wird am Freitag (1. März) 99 Jahre alt. Von 1986 bis 2001 stand do Nascimento als Erzbischof an der Spitze der angolanischen Hauptstadtdiözese Luanda. Zuvor war er Bischof seiner Geburtsstadt Malanje (1975-1977) und Erzbischof von Lubanga (1977-1986).
