Richard Granville Swinburne (IPA / ˈ s w ɪ n b ɜːr n /) FBA (born 26 December 1934) is an English philosopher. He is an Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at the University of Oxford. Over the last 50 years, Swinburne has been a proponent of philosophical arguments for the existence of God.

Richard Swinburne, Oxford Philosophy. I began my academic life at the University of Oxford, with undergraduate (1954-7) and graduate (1957-9) degrees in philosophy and then a diploma in theology (1959-60).
