Tim Hunt is a biochemist who discovered the cyclins, key regulators of the cell cycle, and shared the 2001 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Leland Hartwell and Paul Nurse. He was a PhD student, postdoctoral researcher and group leader in the Department of Biochemistry at Cambridge from 1964 to 1990.
