Named for the actor Edwin Booth (1833-1893), brother to the infamous John Wilkes Booth, the venue was actually the second New York theatre to bear this name.
The Booth Theatre is a 700+ seat venue that opened in 1913 and has hosted several Pulitzer-Prize winning shows. The current show is The Music Man, running through April 28, 2024.
