The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (Japanese: トム・ソーヤーの冒険, Hepburn: Tomu Sōyā no Bōken) is a Japanese anime television series produced by Nippon Animation and directed by Hiroshi Saito, which premiered on January 6, 1980, and ended its run on December 28 the same year.
Tomu Sôyâ no bôken: With Ikuo Nishikawa, Ichirô Nagai, Yoshiko Matsuo, Minoru Yada. Tom Sawyer is a young boy growing up along the Mississippi River in the mid 1800s. Along with his best friend Huckleberry Finn, he spends his days ditching school, fishing, climbing trees and having adventures.

Tom Sawyer doesn't like school much. Escaping from the schoolhouse, he's off to the woods to catch a wild pig with his friend Huck. Their attempts to sell the pig at the harbor end with a wild disturbance on the steamboat.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (トム・ソーヤーの冒険, Tomu Sōyā no Bōken) is an anime television series produced by Nippon Animation and directed by Hiroshi Saitô, which premiered on January 6, 1980, and ending its run on December 28 the same year.
The series was broadcast on the World Masterpiece Theater, an animation staple on Fuji TV that showcased each year an animated version of a different classical book or story of Western literature, and was originally titled "Tom Sawyer no Bōken".
