Bruno Bischofberger (born 1940) is a Swiss art dealer and collector. Life. Bischofberger was born in 1940 in Zürich. He studied art history, archaeology and ethnography (folk art) at the University of Zurich, with further studies at the universities of Bonn and Munich.
Sie leben in einem von Ettore Sottsass entworfenen Haus über dem Zürichsee. 1963 eröffnet Bischofberger seine Galerie in Zürich an der Pelikanstrasse, die während der ersten drei Jahre noch city-galerie heisst. Die erste wichtige Ausstellung moderner Kunst, Pop Art, findet vom 15. Juni bis 10.
Bruno Bischofberger. Born in 1940 in Zurich, Switzerland. In 1958 starts to read art history, archaeology and the ethnography of the Western World (folk art) at the University of Zurich, with further studies at the universities of Bonn and Munich. In 1971 marriage to Christina (née Clifton).
His first bronzes were made in 1982; starting in 1985, he began working on tarpaulins—waterproof, olive-green material made of heavy cotton and covered with a layer of vinyl. Besides ancient citations and symbols, white lettering became an important element of his style.
