Whit Grant Fraser CC (born November 26, 1942) [1] is a Canadian journalist, broadcaster, and author who, by virtue of his marriage to Mary Simon, is the 56th and current viceregal consort of Canada. [2]
His Excellency Whit Grant Fraser is the spouse of Mary May Simon, Canada’s first Indigenous governor general and the 30th governor general since Confederation.
Whit Fraser C.C. is a journalist, author and storyteller, and vice-regal consort of Canadian Governor General Mary Simon. His first book, a memoir of his life and work in Arctic communities titled True North Rising, won the 2019 NorthWords Book Prize.
