The End of the Innocence is the third solo studio album by Don Henley, the co-lead vocalist and drummer for the Eagles. The album was released in 1989, on Geffen Records , and was his last release on that label.
Yet haunting ballads like "The Heart of the Matter" and "New York Minute" reveal Henley's most contemplative and mature side to the world. The piano-driven title track, co-written and co-produced by Bruce Hornsby, greets the dawn of a new decade with a sadder but wiser sense of reflection.
