Kitty Lux, band member and co-founder with George Hinchliffe, died on 16 July 2017, aged 59, after suffering from various chronic health issues. Lux recovered from a kidney transplant only days before the Proms concert. She retired from public performances after suffering a stroke in 2015.

I just read in Ukulele Magazine that Kitty Lux, co-founding member of the UOGB passed away in July. How did that get by me? I'm glad I got to see her perform with them a few years ago. Godspeed Kitty. Now you're entertaining angels.

THE Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain may be the only ensemble to have played at both the BBC Proms and Glastonbury festival but when it began in 1985 it was only meant to be a bit of fun.
