MDK created a genre called, “Wubstep”. Wubstep is a combination of Complextro, Chiptune, Dubstep, and Smooth Jazz. It’s a fast pasted genre that only MDK and Nitro use. Wubstep is often referred as 8 bit video gamey Dubstep.
Like Dex Arson, he has also released his Outlaw Ocean-inspired EP, Black Water. The EP is part of The Outlaw Ocean Music Project, which is based on the book of the same name by author Ian Urbina.In the music video for "Basswagon", MDK can be seen wearing a t-shirt with the artwork for "The Singles" a Bandcamp-exclusive anthology album containing all of his singles from 2014.He can sing, as heard in songs like "The Only Way I Know" and "Drown (One Day)".On February 17, he was featured in the RobTop video as a new musical artist in the song trigger.Only Way I Know.
