The 1975 version was redubbed, recut and released in the United States as The Magic Pony on October 25, 1977, with Erin Moran voicing the Magic Pony, Jim Backus as the voice of the Tsar, Hans Conried as Spalnik and Johnny Whitaker as Ivan.
1975. The Magic Pony (Конёк-горбунок Konyok-gorbunok) is a 1975 Soviet animated film adapted from Pyotr Yershov's poem The Little Humpbacked Horse, directed by Ivan Ivanov-Vano. It is a remake of the original 1947 Soviet animated film The Magic Horse, which was in poor condition at the time and could not be restored.
Ivan and his three brothers are sent to protect the fields again so mysterious culprit responsible for destroying the wheat crop. Lo and behold that culprit is a magic pony who leads them on the enchanted adventure filled with wondrous encounters.
