Julian Sands wurde ab dem 13. Januar 2023 vermisst. Er war während des schneereichen Winters 2023 zu einer Alleinwanderung in der Bergregion Mount Baldy bei Los Angeles aufgebrochen und nicht zurückgekehrt. Ende Juni 2023 wurde ein mehrere Tage zuvor gefundener Leichnam als Sands identifiziert.
