  1. Film, Television & Digital Media Admissions. The Department of Film, Television and Digital Media offers admission to the undergraduate major and minor, six Masters of Fine Arts programs, and the M.A. and Ph.D. in Cinema Media Studies. Apply.

  2. You may apply for admission as a first-year if you meet the following criteria. You’re currently in high school. Or, you’ve already graduated from high school, but haven’t yet enrolled in a regular session at a college or university.

  3. Requirements. UCLA students must satisfactorily complete for credit a minimum of 180 units for the bachelor’s degree, which includes all University; School of Theater, Film and Television; and FTVDM department requirements. At least 64 of the 180 units must be upper-division courses numbered 100 through 199.

  4. The School’s General Education (GE) Requirements consist of ten courses (48 minimum units required) and are grouped into three areas: Foundations of the Arts and Humanities, Foundations of Society and Culture, and Foundations of Scientific Inquiry.   5. The Department of Film, Television and Digital Media provides professional and scholarly approaches to the study of media and helps students discover their powers as independent artists and communicators.
