Didacus of Alcalá ( Spanish: Diego de Alcalá ), also known as Diego de San Nicolás, was a Spanish Franciscan lay brother who served among the first group of missionaries to the newly conquered Canary Islands. He died at Alcalá de Henares on 12 November 1463 and is now honoured by the Catholic Church as a saint .

A Franciscan lay brother and ascetic who converted many pagans in the Canaries and performed miracles. He was canonized in 1588 and his body was taken to cure Philip II's son in 1562.
He was finally recalled to Spain and was sent by his superiors to Alcalá where he spent the remaining years of his life in penance, solitude, and the delights of contemplation. St. Didacus was canonized by Sixtus V in 1588. His feast is kept in the order on the twelfth of November.
