Janet Q. Nguyen (born May 1, 1976) is an American politician who serves in the California State Senate. A Republican, she represents the 36th district, which includes coastal Orange County, Little Saigon, and parts of Los Angeles County.
She was the first woman to represent the 72nd Assembly District, the first Vietnamese-American in the country to be elected to both the state Senate and state Assembly, the highest-ranking Vietnamese-American elected official in the United States and the only Asian American woman Legislator in California.
