In April 2023, Jon Oliva confirmed to Rock Hard magazine that Savatage would reconvene in June to begin recording their first studio album in more than two decades, to which he said will "probably be the last album [they] ever do" and revealed Curtain Call as its working title.

Jon Oliva's Pain (sometimes referred to as JOP) was a musical project of Savatage co-founder Jon Oliva . Band history. Originally, the project consisted entirely of solo recordings by Oliva, but after several months of work he was joined by former members of Circle II Circle to form a band. [1]
