Shibli Nomani (4 June 1857 – 18 November 1914) was an Islamic scholar, poet, philosopher, historian, educational thinker, author, orator, reformer and critic of orientalists from Indian subcontinent during the British Raj.
Allamah Shibli Numani (Urdu علامہ شبلی نعمانی ; * 1857 in Azamgarh, Indien; † 1914) war ein islamischer Gelehrter und Theologe. Er war der Sohn wohlhabender Eltern. Sein Vater war ein erfolgreicher Anwalt und verdiente zusätzlich noch im Indigo -Handel.
Shibli Nomani was a historian, poet, critic and scholar of Urdu and Persian literature. He wrote several books on Islam, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, Omar Farooq and other topics, and is considered one of the founders of Urdu literary criticism.
