Bonilla currently plays in California Transit Authority, a project led by former Chicago drummer, founding member and Rock n' Roll Hall of Famer Danny Seraphine, featuring some updates to early Chicago songs as well as new material and has currently completed the follow-up album of all original material.
CTA is California u0003Transit Authority, a band led by Danny Seraphine, the original drummer for Chicago. Early Chicago records stood out thanks in large part to Seraphine's drumming and Terry Kath's incendiary guitar and soulful vocals.
He also continues to work and tour with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame drummer Danny Seraphine, co-founder of Chicago and California Transit Authority. He has produced, written and performed on two CTA album releases “Full Circle” and “Sacred Ground”.
CHICAGO INITIALLY gained fame opening for music legends such as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin, Bruce Springsteen, and the Beach Boys, hitting its stride almost immediately after their debut effort, Chicago Transit Authority, a double album, came out in 1969.
In 2006, Danny picked up his sticks again, and formed California Transit Authority (CTA) with guitarist Marc Bonilla and Keyboardist Ed Roth.
The California Transit Authority was formed in 2006 and featured, in addition to Seraphine himself, the band includes guitarist Marc Bonilla who has credentials as a solo aritist and on releases of Keith Emerson, Glenn Hughes, David Coverdale and Kevin Gilbert and vocalist Larry Braggs (Tower of Power)
Along with veteran guitarist Marc Bonilla (Keith Emerson/Glenn Hughes), keyboard players Ed Roth & Peter Fish, bass player Mick Mahan, and vocalist Larry Braggs, CTA released their debut Full Circle, which was a great start but mostly contained covers and a few old Chicago staples.
