Glossop is a small town in the Borough of High Peak west Derbyshire in England. [1] [2] Glossop is a market town and as of 2014 had a population of around 33,000 but as of 2001 Glossop had a population of 32,428.
Glossop is a gateway to the Peak District National Park and is a market town within the foothills of the Pennines. It lies approximately 15 miles east of Manchester and 55 miles north of Derby. It is near Derbyshire's county borders with Cheshire, Greater Manchester, South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire.
