    Students in the TESOL PreK-12 (MA) program participate in developmental field experiences (fieldwork) in all TESOL PreK-12 courses, and two semesters of supervised teaching (student teaching and/or practicum).

    Graduation is the official completion of your program and conferral of an academic degree.     This program leads to New York State certification in ESOL PreK-12. Students must wait to apply for certification until they receive an email from the School of Education indicating their recommendation has been entered. This usually occurs six to eight week’s after the conferral of your degree.

  4. The Teaching Collaborative is offered in partnership with the New York City Department of Education. Participants, or Partner Teachers, spend a full spring semester as an apprentice in a high-need NYC public school before becoming a full-time teacher.

  5. The TESOL PreK-12 program (Academic Plan: TESOL-MA) is designed to educate people who wish to teach students for whom English is a second or foreign language in a school setting.

  6. The TESOL post-masters, advanced certificate programs are designed to educate people who wish to teach students for whom English is a second or foreign language – either children or adolescents.
