The CW officially renewed One Tree Hill for a ninth season on May 17, 2011. On May 19, 2011, Dawn Ostroff confirmed that the 13 episodes for season nine will be the last for the series. liveitupbrah. Just rewatched Season 9 and here are my thoughts... Season 9. I don't know why there is so much hate for this season. I thought it was such a great step up from Seasons 7-8 and the intensity of the storylines was much needed. Nathan's kidnapping had me on the edge of my seat.
