Rin Tin Tin or Rin-Tin-Tin (September 1918 – August 10, 1932) was a male German Shepherd born in Flirey, France, who became an international star in motion pictures. He was rescued from a World War I battlefield by an American soldier, Lee Duncan, who nicknamed him " Rinty ".
Rin Tin Tin war einer von zwei Welpen, die der US-amerikanische Soldat Lee Duncan gegen Ende des Ersten Weltkriegs in einem zerschossenen Stall im damals deutschen Lothringen entdeckte. Er nahm den Rüden und die Hündin mit nach Los Angeles, wo Nanette jedoch bald nach der Ankunft in den USA starb.
