The beautiful village of Roosky is a very well known and popular tourist destination along the Shannon. The old town is famous for its angling and the waterways are well stocked with perch, roach and bream. If you are in the mood for exercise there are some lovely peaceful walking trails around the area also.

Roosky, Ruskey, or Rooskey (Irish: Rúscaigh, meaning 'swamp' or 'bog') is a village on the River Shannon in the northern midlands of Ireland, near the point where counties Leitrim, Longford, and Roscommon meet.
Roosky (auch Rooskey, irisch Rúscaigh) ist eine Ortschaft in den nördlichen Midlands der Republik Irland. Sie liegt beidseitig des Shannon und damit in den Countys Leitrim und Roscommon. Der Ort hat 787 Einwohner (Stand 2022). Das sind dreimal mehr als noch 1991, als Roosky lediglich 249 Einwohner hatte.
