Apply to SMC. To begin the SMC application, you must first create an account. Once you have created an account, complete and submit your Santa Monica College admission application. It takes 4-6 weeks to process international student applications.
The application — available online at smc.edu/apply — provides the College with information that satisfies State registration requirements and initiates the education planning process.
Each student applying for admission or enrollment is classified as a “resident” or a “nonresident” for purposes of admission and/or tuition. Please see the Residency information below for important details regarding California residency requirements and how they apply to students attending Santa Monica College.
Enroll. To enroll at SMC, students should start by going to smc.edu/EnrollInfo to get ready. Students can find a listing of Frequently Asked Questions and video tutorials on how to enroll and use various tools available to students at smc.edu/faq.
Step 1: What you Need to Apply. You will be asked if you are a New/Returning Student, an incoming Transfer, an Undocumented Student or an International Student. Follow the links and instructions on the Santa Monica College website. Apply to SMC TODAY! Step 2: Apply for Financial Aid. Complete the FAFSA or California Dream Act.
