31. Jan. 2016 · Sir Terry Wogan, renowned for his work on Radio 2's breakfast show and Children In Need, has died of cancer at the age of 77. A family statement, issued by the BBC, said: "Sir Terry Wogan died today after a short but brave battle with cancer. He passed away surrounded by his family.
In 2005, Wogan acquired British citizenship in addition to his Irish nationality and was awarded a knighthood in the same year and was therefore entitled to use the title "Sir Terry". [5] [6] He died on 31 January 2016, aged 77.
