Thomas Moran (February 12, 1837 – August 25, 1926) was an American painter and printmaker of the Hudson River School in New York whose work often featured the Rocky Mountains.
Thomas Moran was influenced by J. M. W. Turner and created colorful landscapes of the Rocky Mountains and the West. He also documented the Yellowstone region and helped inspire the creation of the first national park in 1872.
