Biografia. Figlio ultimogenito di Nicola Tozzi, agente di polizia originario di Vico del Gargano ( FG ), e di Immacolata, casalinga, originaria di Montesarchio (in provincia di Benevento ), entrambi emigrati a Torino nel 1945 [4] da Rodi Garganico, è fratello di Franco, anche lui cantante negli anni sessanta.
